Angela Quezada Padron is the owner of Dream Jar Publishing, an independent children's book publishing company. In addition to being a published children's book author-illustrator, Angela has over 18 years experience working as a freelance writer, illustrator, and developmental editor for various educational and trade publishers. Angela has always been a Renaissance woman who wears several hats, including as an educator, curriculum developer, fine artist, musician and novice fashion designer, just to name a few. Her books include: As the Seas Rise (Simon & Schuster, 2024); From the Fields to the Fight (Simon & Schuster, 2026); An Island Called Home (Eerdman's, 2026); Lucia's Goals (Lee & Low, 2026); and Sisters All the Time (Charlesbridge, 2026) with two additional titles publishing in 2027 and 2028.
Besides her own published children's books, Angela has written, edited, and art directed a series of decodable books called Cover to Cover as part of Reading Partners' curriculum that addresses the science of reading. She has earned six college degrees, including an MA in Illustration from Academy of Art University. Angela also provides critiques, developmental editing, art directing, book layout design, and publishing career consultations for both authors and illustrators. When she's not working, you can find Angela observing wild dolphins and collecting seashells, singing along to Lady Gaga, playing baseball, or binging on Star Wars.
