Contest for Afternoon Attendees

We are running a contest for Afternoon Attendees!

Here's how to enter:

  1. Sign up Afternoon Sessions. If you've already signed up, you're halfway done!

  2. Send an email to wifyrpodcast@gmail.com with the subject "Afternoon Contest" with the first 150 words of your manuscript. The strongest opening will win a one-on-one with an editor or agent. This will give you time to talk about the first 750 words of your manuscript.

What Do These Afternoon Instructors All Have in Common?

Brodi Ashton, Ann Dee Ellis, Claudia Mills, Kathryn Purdie, Courtney Alemeda, Alane Ferguson, Celesta Rimington, Christian McKay Heidicker, Yamile Mendez,  Matthew Kirby, Sara B. Larson, Ingrid Law, Erin Stewart, Matt Armstrong, Valynne Maetani, Emily King, Sheila Nielson, Kristyn Crow and SO MANY MORE  (including three people who attended last year) went to Writing and Illustrating for Young Readers and got the boost they needed to start publishing, find an agent, or get an editor interested in their work.


Here's What You Can Expect at the Afternoon Sessions

If you're unable to attend a morning workshop, you can still participate in our conference by attending the Afternoon Sessions! From 2 pm to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday, you'll get to listen to our plenary and keynote speakers, participate in Hands-On Workshops, and breakout sessions. You'll hear from agents, editors, published authors, and well-seasoned writers. Thursday will be a book signing and a party.
