The Driving Interactions of Relationships, Characters and Plot

3-Day, June 14-16, 2017, 8:30-12:30

with Ken Baker

Writers sometimes debate what drives the story—character or plot? Hey, what about relationships? Too often we overlook the importance that relationships play in driving the story. In addition to digging into how to enhance the impact of your characters and plots, this workshop will explore how relationships can further help you increase tension, drive the story in different directions, and pull the reader deeper into your story, as well as into the hearts and minds of your characters. The class is ideal for YA and MG novelists, but younger genre writers are welcome too. Attendees will be asked to submit in advance up to 5500 words of a story they want to workshop

NOTE: Enrollment includes afternoon classes for these days.
